Poem about a Digital Marketing campaignBoss,
I come to you today, head down tail between my legs with a confession, That campaign that I put together last week, Got zero impressions... But please don’t jump the gun and ruffle up your feathers, I think I know a way that we can do it better, The team and I, We put our heads together, It was a lengthy process And I’ll spare you every letter, but We decided to run two campaigns in tandem, tethered... So with humble eyes, wise in my own mind I've retooled, revised and refined Every possible piece of the outbound message, Thought out every angle To minimize the wreckage, Now all I need is your blessing To let it live and fly I've put my heart into this – isn't it why I was hired? Boss, I come to you today, head held high, bearing the flag of your grace, That tandem ad we ran last week, Media awards – first place! And I come now with some takeaways About learning from mistakes, The challenge it bestirred was not an easy one For me to up and face, But confronting the King Snake Before the wake Of you catching wind, Lessened the blow considerably for a guy with thin skin! Second to fessing up Was learning to ask those tough questions, And be double-backed with ammo To offer reparative suggestions, So the direction that I mentioned we should head in, Was calculated not to be shredded. Lastly and probably top of the list, I've realized that being perfect is not an option, Falling down and getting back up, Is really a quality of adoption. This whole process has led to my own personal growth, I realize that, There's going to be flaws And times when I choke, But if I soak up the knowledge, Carve it, Make it oak solid, It's the foundation of a future leader, Fearless and acknowledged. So Boss, I come to you today, head down tail between my legs, basking in your devotion, Remember that discussion we had last week, about my promotion...? |
