Broken From The Start

By: Mathews Mhango

Born in a disjointed family
A father who didn't care of your presence
No love and attention from him but.... absence
Rage in his fiery eyes is all what you saw
Looked down upon, not inspired…..
Disgraced and dejected
your mother's face somber and wrinkled
that’s what all u saw
Happiness remained foreign
Cause of the torture and abuse of the father.

A Happy home remained a mystery
No motherly love only misery
in your teen you become pregnant
14 years old….
the Love of the family and father was all but distant
In an earlier marriage you were forced
Cutting off your education
Your future was cut...your teen years were cut.
Cut and thrown....
Into the hands of unloving husband
A true replica of your father

Forced to run form the torment of a marriage
kids from that failed marriage
into the world of prostitution
where men take advantage of your weakness
Abused and used….
Still you have to survive
For yourself and the kids
Dark road ahead
A black hole in space for you

Your life has all remained broken
Your past is broken…
Your present is broken….
You’re living in a broken world
Everything to fix
A gloomy future is all what you see
For you and you kids
