poem about a grapefruit, short poem,

"Grapefruit"

I left over half the grapefruit.

So sensationally succulent it was
Excreting savory juices.

Half in my mouth,
Fifty percent in space,
Bites sprayed like sidewalk hydrants
The firemen opened up
for kids' delight
on Sweltering days.

Sweltering days when grapefruits
are extra delicious.

Except the second half,
When the napkin is used up.
