Sometimes when I'm creating a new spoken word poem, my pen just doesn't want to stop - it can hardly keep up with my thoughts.
More often than not, this happens when I start writing and upbeat poem, usually one that has a positive message or vibe.
The slam poems on this page fit that description, and sometimes its OK to just leave well enough alone - which means these poems might be awkward, they may skip around, they might not flow naturally... but this is slam poetry. Last I checked, I can write the rules and if the judges see things my way, I'd win a competition.
So while the readability factor might be questionable here, if the performance aspect of the poem is delivered with some fight, the meaning is conveyed more easily and more potently.
